【MARCH 5】Revision of Guideline for “Special Permission to Stay”

Immigration Services Agency revised and updated the Guideline of “Special Permission to Stay”, for those who are subjected to deportation but wishing to continue their stay in Japan. This came along with Revised Immigration Control and Refugee Recognition Act etc. enacted in 2023.

According to this New Guideline, “Special Permission to Stay” will be incorporated into the procedure as an application, with several additional items to existing conditions for positive/negative consideration and its specification in written form.
